We have had a blast the last 9 days camping northern MN. We have already started to make plans for next year's vacation! We stayed at the Fall Lake Campground in the Superior national forest. The campground is wonderful. It has flush toilets and warm showers. A must for me! The campground has plenty of sites, we stayed in site 5 which was very spacious. We will definitely be camping here again next year. Fall Lake is split where half of the lake is in the Boundary Waters.... So I can now check that off of bucket list. It's absolutely serene here.
We went to the Soudon Mine while we were here. Being very claustrophobic, I rode the elevator to the underground mine for approx 2 minutes before having a break down and needing to send the car back to the top. The kids and Dominick enjoyed the ride and tour. I purchased the book, "The Root Beer Lady" and read from a stunning view.
We also toured the Dorothy Molter Museum while we were here. A must see and also read the book! Kids enjoyed activities, cold root beer and learned a lot.
And of course, we went out in Dominick's new Kevlar canoe. I could spend hours floating and listening to the sounds of nature. We went to some really awesome places via the canoe. I can't wait for next year!!
